Overview of Instant Access ISAs
Instant Access Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) allow you to save money without paying tax on the interest you earn. They provide flexibility, enabling you to withdraw your funds whenever you need them while still earning reasonably competitive interest rates. If you have smaller amounts to save and don't currently pay tax on savings interest you may be better off with a instant access savings account. Tax on interest starts once you earn £1,000 in interest for 20% tax payers or £500 for higher rate tax payers. Lower income or unemployeed people can earn more in interest before paying tax, check the HMRC website for that information: HMRC Tax on savings interest.
